What amazing weather we had this weekend and just being outside was a great time, no activity required. However, J and I went running in the morning down around the Mall, where there was a walk for Juvenile Diabetes research going on, past the Lincoln Memorial, around the Tidal Basin and up Raoul Wallenberg Place.
Then it was an afternoon spent with J and D conferring with friends of mine about how to revamp their small condo kitchen without too much expense or hassle. I had made plans to spend time with my sister and her kids at the Sheep and Wool Festival but somehow got snagged into tagging along on the kitchen adventure.
I had a desire to hang out on the water and enjoy a tasty adult beverage so we went to Cantina Marina which is a nice departure from the usual Georgetown upscale snooty atmosphere. Cantina Marina is more like a slice of Key West transplanted to the DC waterfront area just across from Hains Point. The people watching can’t be beat; its an eclectic group of patrons.
All in all it was an excellent Sunday. But that was yesterday and this is today…another chance to forge ahead with adventures.
